In a first to launch in Melbourne, Meyers Place will become a tourist destination like no other.
Shimmer walls will line the streets and disco balls will be attached from above. Both will glisten and glint in sunshine and with the solar power lights we project onto them.
The mesmerising effect of the shimmer is like nothing else – it moves in waves and is a true sight to behold. Refracting light will project from thousands of small mirror squares, effectively turning the lane into a life-sized, walk through disco ball!
Melbourne Shimmer Lane is supported through the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund – a $200 million partnership of the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne.
Event Program
Melbourne Shimmer Lane is running daily from the 1st of September until the end of October. It is an experience to behold, both in the day and night!
No tickets are required for this event - feel free to stroll through the laneway at any time, day or night!

Singing for as long as she can remember, Abbey is a performer who’s been working professionally for years. Her repertoire covers a variety of genres from jazz, soul, pop, disco, and party classics. She loves reimagining modern songs into the vintage world.

Jade & Daniel
Meet Daniel (12-year-old Saxophonist) and Jade (15-year-old Violinist) –some of Melbourne’s youngest buskers. This musical sibling duo is taking the city streets by storm. For Daniel and Jade, busking allows them to get creative with their musical skills and expression, trying out some improvisation or introducing their own melodies to popular songs.
