River Riffs Accessibility Information

VEE Agency is committed to making River Riffs an accessible community event, through the below measures:

  • Our Site Plan has been developed to allow 2.5m thoroughfare via footpath at all times, to ensure that wheelchair access is readily available for both the event, and for Batman Park as a thoroughfare.

  • An Accessible Toilet is available on site for patrons to use at this event, which is directly accessible via a footpath at the event.

  • Our Event is outdoors and open plan, on flat grass for public viewing - there are no areas of this event that are unable to be accessed via wheelchair.

  • VEE Agency is a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Association, and a proud supporter of this program. Staff at this event will have completed this training, and endeavour to make event experiences accessible to all.

  • Water Bowls will be available on site for Assistance Dogs.

Not available:

  • Accessible parking

  • Assistive listening

  • Braille

  • Safe/quiet space

  • Sign language

  • Audio description

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program

Some disabilities, conditions or chronic illnesses are not immediately obvious to others. For some people, this can make it hard to understand and believe that someone, with a “non-visible” condition genuinely needs support. Some people question whether you have a disability because you don’t look ‘like you have a disability".

That is why we are proud to partner with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program - to encourage inclusivity, acceptance and understanding at our events. Just wear your sunflower lanyard and our trained staff will be there to help you with anything you need.

The sunflower lanyard is a simple tool for you to share that you have a hidden disability voluntarily. Simply by wearing the Sunflower, you’re just letting everyone know that you might need extra help, understanding, or just more time.
